India- Different from the dreams of its Makers

Democracy is an ideology that a government follows to run its nation. We can also say that it is one of the methods of governance. Democracy means the governance by the people for the people of the people. But we have very well changed the meanings to democracy. In India we mean by democracy as governance by certain group of people for certain group of people and of the certain group of people but claimed for masses. We are the roots to these changes and we never recognize it and also never take it as the outcome of our attitude towards democracy but we never miss a chance to start or join or end a talk over it and always are complaining about it.
We the nation of about a billion plus people cannot be organized or governed not because of the size of the nation but because of the attitude that this huge size of mass carries. We never consider our nation as our own belonging and think that it the property of those few selected by some voting method who then later respect this attitude of the people of such a nation and accept the nation as their property and use all its resources for their own benefits. Certain private companies who have become really profit centric have realized that the property held by this few selected members could easily be used by them for their motive of maximum profits and therefore they help this few selected to get selected and later aid those helping hands to overcome their motives. This is one of the narrow as seen by some or one of the broader views as seen by the rest, of the working of the politics of one of largest known democratic nation of the world-INDIA.
We ourselves have put to question our existence in such a self framed democracy. We look upon the government for our welfare wherein we ourselves are not really concerned about it. Also in many cases as per the scenario of our nation where the population of underprivileged is very high and who look upon to government for their basic existence where the government itself is not very sure about its own existence. Therefore we put others (government or other authority) to question with regards to ideal situation but never in actual we work under ideal situation.
We as the people of the nation have become very short sighted and what we need to change at the first place is our vision which needs to take into consideration factors of the future and also outcomes of decisions taken in short span of time in long run. We have dumped deep our basic instincts of survival like other animals on earth and have become very self-centered without even realizing that we are the social animals and we are interdependent too. We all strive hard to put together every possible resource and stock it for ourselves without even giving a second thought to needs of today of those who are not able to afford it today. In this course of activity we humans are killing humanity.
The other factor which is leading to slow poisoning to the human race and its existence is the methods of development and progress. Every new day is a birth of a new invention. Many of which could be embarked as the stepping stones of success of the progress path of the nation whereas the rest are just factors of destruction in disguise. Every development and progress that human invents has an impact on the nature, environment and the very physical structure of mother earth. We have started giving a deaf ear or a blind eye as if we had no souls to answer to in the name of this so called development and progress. These things (development and progress) are needed but their outcomes should be projected and taken into consideration for their existence.

There is one more important thing that needs to be given consideration and that is the natural resources, water, land forms, etc. In the course of development and progress we are degrading the quality and the quantity of these things at a rapid rate. According to many social scientists the day wouldn’t be far enough when the existence of these freely available resources would become a question. Therefore conservation and planned usage is the very solution to this situation and the stable living of the generation to come in near future.

  1. First of all, welcome welcome welcome!!!

    :)

Second of all, I like the URL..c360all..very creative and obvious in its meaning..

And finally a very good post to start with. I agree with two things that you mentioned - one, that we are not looking at ourselves as beings of our nation. So there is no belonging and hence, we dont bother about it.
Another thing that we are really disrespecting the scarce natural resources that we have.

However, I do not agree with the harsh feelings that you have for the private sector thats selfishly working towards its growth. I agree that they are doing the same but then thats bringing the nation up as a whole.

    They prosper, we prosper.

And thats essentially why mumbai is MUMBAI, the city of dreams because this city has allowed one and all to set up their businesses.

  2. @Priyam: thanks u..

Well for the thing that u dont agree i knew this is a possibility, therefore i have mentioned it as"This is one of the narrow as seen by some or one of the broader views as seen by the rest, of the working of the politics of one of largest known democratic nation of the world-INDIA."

I would like to justify this: I never said that this companies are selfish and make profits only for themselves, on the contrary they are too much selfless in distributing this profits. Their work is always in the beneficial interest of its share holders, its employees and probably every person associated wit the company with a good willing* for the company.

What i meant was that their ways of earning this large profits be it for whom so ever are many a times not ethical and i guess that i should not mention those but u may understand. Probably the scale of this unethical activity varies as per the scale of the business of that entity.

So this prosperity on such a stand which is so very hollow cannot withstand for long(this is what actually it should happen, but we have now made it happen the other way round).
